ON THE ROAD AGAIN WITH EVELYN
Dance News...
Greetings from Phoenix and a
WCS update. I tried two new places this week. John Q's is
a nightclub in Scottsdale. Every Wednesday and every other
Thursday they have WCS. Both nights are new dances but the
attendance was pretty good on Wednesday. The dance floor
is great with a nice club atmosphere. The DJ turns over at
10:30 for hip hop and the 20 something's start to pour in.
On Friday I went to The Orange Tree
Golf resort in Scottsdale. They have a GREAT band that
plays Thursday through Saturday nights, "Tribe 7". The
lounge dance floor is small but no charge to get in. The
only problem is if a group of dancers from the "Fred
Astaire" studios show up and clog the dance floor. This is
similar to Arthur Murray but with a twist, for a small
fortune you can pay the instructors to go dancing with you
for two hours. They sometimes come out in force,
young women with older guys or vice versa. I've nicknamed
them the "Stepford Wives"
For those of you who know Wade, he
lives here now. Just got married. I also ran into a guy
from Seattle and SF. I thought for a split second I was in
the wrong city!
