Dance Calendar through May 22, 2008
Dear Dancin' Friends,
It's supposed to be in the eighties this
Saturday! Fortunately we can open up the double doors to keep dancing
comfortable for the big Third Saturday ROCKIN' AT THE BARN.
The pre-dance beginner's lesson will be West Coast Swing, followed by
dancing to a variety of Rock, Pop, Swing and more.
Sunday's pre-dance beginner's lesson for THE
HARBOR HAPPENING will be Waltz. Dance in air conditioned
comfort to a variety of Swing, Ballroom, Latin and Country. Thanks to
CHRISTINE and all the other people who surprised me
with a birthday party there last Sunday. I definitely feel celebrated!

ROCKIN' AT THE BARN
SATURDAY, MAY 17. Dance on a
big 4,000 square foot hardwood dance floor. Music and instruction is by
yours truly, RON BOLIN, THE
DANCIN' DJ. Doors open at 7:15 PM. I'll get you mixing
and moving by teaching a beginner's lesson in West
Coast Swing at 7:30 PM, no partner or experience needed. Then
dance from 8 PM to Midnight. You're sure to meet lots of new people in
the hourly mixers. Admission is $12. Snacks and beverages are available
in vending machines. It's a great place for alcohol-free fun for all
ages 18 and over. This is our Third Saturday Christian Singles Night.
Everyone's always welcome. Rockin' At The Barn is held at The Rockin'
Horse Dance Barn, 11820 150th Ave SE, Renton.
DIRECTIONS: It's just a few minutes off of I-405. From I-405,
take Exit #5. Go east up Sunset about 3 miles. Turn right on 148th, left
on 117th, and right on 150th. There's a large free parking lot which
usually fills up, but you are also allowed to park for free in the
adjacent Apollo Elementary School lot. For more info contact Ron at

Here's the schedule of 7:30 PM pre-dance lessons for Rockin' At The
Barn. All lessons are absolute beginner level, no partner or experience
needed. I play a WIDE VARIETY of music for the 8 PM to
Midnight dance regardless of the lesson.

CARPOOL TO THIRD SATURDAY ROCKIN' AT THE BARN
MARY
PEPPARD already has a few people sharing the ride from
Bellevue to the Third Saturday Rockin' At The Barn dances. Gather
starting at 6:45 PM in the big parking lot at St. Louise Church, 141 -
156th Ave SE, Bellevue. The carpool will leave at 7:00 PM to arrive in
plenty of time for the 7:30 PM pre-dance lesson at the Rockin' Horse
Dance Barn in Renton. You may just show up at St. Louise for the
carpool, or call Mary at 425-827-8157 or email her at
mcpeppard@yahoo.com.
DIRECTIONS to
St. Louise Church: From I-405, take the NE 8th St. exit
and go east to 156th Ave SE (you'll see Crossroads Mall). Turn right on
156th and go a few blocks. Go past Main St. then turn right into the
large free parking lot.
Bellevue is actually relatively close (about 20 minutes drive) to the
Rockin' Horse Dance Barn. We regularly get people from places farther
away including Seattle, Tacoma, Everett, Olympia, Bremerton, and even
Bellingham. I guess that's proof that it's worth the drive!

THE HARBOR HAPPENING
SUNDAY, MAY 18. This is your weekly
hot spot for a variety of partner dancing! Music and instruction is by
yours truly, RON BOLIN, THE DANCIN' DJ. Tonight at 7 PM
I'll teach a beginning lesson in Waltz. No
partner or experience is necessary. Then dance from 8 to 11 PM as I play
a wide variety of partner dance music - all types of Swing (East, West,
Lindy, etc.), Ballroom, Hustle, Country, Latin and more. There's always
a friendly mixing atmosphere and lots of people to dance with. You'll
meet new friends and dance partners in the mixers. Admission is $6 for
the lesson and $8 for the dance or $12 for both the lesson and dance.
You can order both food and drinks in the air-conditioned lounge. No
outside food or beverage please. It's open to both singles and couples
ages 21 and over. My helper Tony will make you feel welcome at the door.
China Harbor Restaurant is located at 2040 Westlake Ave North on the
west side of Lake Union in Seattle. DIRECTIONS:
From I-5 exit at Mercer St. Turn right at the end of
the off ramp (Fairview) then a quick left at the next light (Valley St).
Turn slight right onto Westlake Ave North. China Harbor is about a mile
