With great sadness in my heart am I sharing the passing of
John Anderson with you, inviting you to come celebrate the
life of this wonderful, kind man, friend, and fellow dancer
with us on Friday, June 6 from 7-10pm.
John was one of the first students of SWD buying the first
unlimited monthly membership exactly two years ago in May
2006. And he continued to dance several times a week. He
participated in many beginners Ballroom classes, excelled in
WC Swing, and was particularly fond of Argentine Tango. He
drove hundreds of miles on his motorcycle for just one or
two hours of "Dancing your Cares away" (this was his
subtitle for SWD), helped clean up the studio after classes,
cheered everyone up with his positive outlook on life, and
was one of the best promoters of SWD. The most meaningful
compliment came during the Evita rehearsal from Laura Akard,
well-known local musical director and dance choreographer:
"John took the fear of partner dancing away of me."
Please come and dance for John and celebrate his life with
all of us on Friday, June 9. Ballroom, WCSwing, and Tango
dancers, come share your memories, stories, photos, and
videos with us. John loved to eat, so there will be
refreshments. Any of your favorite fingerfoods are most
welcome.
John, we will miss you terribly!
